Our ancestors knew precisely the right point in time during the drying process when "bathing" in hay would provide the greatest benefits. You see, as the hay dried, heat was generated inside the haystack itself. That's when the "patient" would open up the haystack and quickly lie down in the hot hay. The pleasant warmth immediately helped them to relax, alleviating joint aches & pains in the process. The essential oils and coumarins that were released had positive effects on the skin and limbic system. As you can see, hay is a well-known and well-proven form of therapy.
Why Alpine hay?
Our marvelously fragrant Alpine hay comes from right here in Salzburger Land. It is only harvested from unfertilized, lush meadows with a naturally occurring colorful variety of mountain flowers, Alpine healing herbs and grasses, such as yarrow, chamomile, sweet clover and St. John's wort. It is precisely this variety that makes the hay we use in therapy so effective. The Alpine hay is pushed into a fleece bag, upon which you lie. Wrapped in yet another fleece, your body absorbs the active ingredients of the hay wonderfully. The effects: relaxing, detoxifying, drains excess fluid, relieves pain, stimulates the metabolism. After your session on the floating bath, our hay beds await you!
